Hydro-Electric Plant
HBMWD’s hydro-electric plant has two one-megawatt turbine generators, thus a rated capacity of 2 MW. Power production is associated with water released for the HBMWD’s water supply operation. Annual average production is approximately 5 million kwh, but can vary greatly based on hydrological conditions. Power generated is sold to PG&E with the revenues received used to offset costs HBMWD’s wholesale customers would otherwise have to pay.
