Industrial Water
HBMWD supplies untreated, raw water to industrial customer(s) located on the Samoa Peninsula, west of Humboldt Bay, for industrial purposes. The delivery capability of HBMWD's industrial water system is 60 million gallons per day (MGD). For many years, HBMWD had long-term contracts in place with two pulp mills for the entire 60 MGD of capacity. Today, HBMWD serves only one industrial customer – Evergreen Pulp, Inc. – who has contracted with HBMWD for 15 MGD, one quarter of the industrial system's capacity.
Availability of Industrial Water
HBMWD has water rights and capacity to provide up to an additional 20 million gallons daily through our industrial (untreated) system for businesses seeking to locate in Eureka, Arcata, or the greater Humboldt Bay area. This is a reliable supply, backed up by dependable Ruth Lake Reservoir and a well maintained pipeline delivery system.
