Experienced Water Treatment and Distribution Operator Wanted! Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District is the regional water wholesaler for Humboldt County, providing drinking water to over 90,000 county residents through our water sales to seven different municipalities. Due to the retirement of a long-term employee, we are currently seeking an experienced water operator for an Operations & Maintenance Technician (O&M Tech) position. We are a small team with huge responsibilities. As such, our team members must excel in multi-tasking and be willing to be cross-trained in multiple areas. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work under general supervision to operate, maintain and control the District’s water pumping, distribution and water treatment facilities, as well as perform basic laboratory testing and sample collection. Additionally, this candidate should be able to perform preventative maintenance checks and repairs of the District water pumping, distribution and treatment facilities, machinery, structures, and grounds. Our current job opening is not an entry level position. Applicants must have prior water operations and treatment plant experience; T-3/D-3 Certification strongly preferred. Salary range is $5,585.66-$6,789.65/month depending on experience, plus an excellent benefit package.
