Department of Boating and Waterways Grants Assist in Prevention of Quagga/Zebra Mussels at Ruth Lake
HBMWD has applied for and received grant funding from the Department of Boating and Waterways to assist in the prevention of Quagga/Zebra Mussels being introduced into Ruth Lake. We have been successful in receiving several grants, all for projects to help reinforce the District's Prevention Plan for Quagga and Zebra Mussels at Ruth Lake.
These grants have been instrumental in maintaining our Prevention Plan to keep the invasive aquatic species out of Ruth Lake, and keeping costs down by providing the financial funding to ensure the reservoir, the source drinking water for 94,000 residents, is protected from Quagga and Zebra Mussels.
