Maintenance Mechanic

We want your mechanical skills!  Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District is seeking a new member for our maintenance team.  We are a small team with huge responsibilities so the ideal candidate must be able to use their skills with minimal supervision.  You will be very busy with maintenance, repair, trouble shooting, and maintaining vehicles as well as various facilities.   This maintenance position is unlike others, so familiarity with water treatment and distribution is helpful but not required at time of application.  Our ideal candidate will have prior experience operating large equipment (backhoes, forklifts, mobile and bridge cranes), general construction equipment and hand tools and be familiar with hydraulic / mechanical systems in general.  Having welding and fabrication skills would definitely be a bonus.  You need to be able to obtain Grade T-2 and D-3 Treatment and Distribution Certification, and NCCCO Crane Certification within two years, but we are willing to help the right candidate accomplish this.  Possession of a Class-A driver’s license with Haz Mat highly desirable, but not required at time of application.  We have a terrific compensation ($4,870 - $5,920 /mo.) and benefits plan.  If you are highly motivated and ready to start a new and challenging position, we have a spot for you!
