Planning Commission Appeal -MCMP withdraws permit and zone change request
At the January 11, 2018 Planning Commission meeting, the Commission voted 3-2 to recommend a re-zoning request for Mercer Fraser property APN 504-161-010 and a special use permit for a 5,000 square foot cannabis extraction manufacturing facility to be sent to the Board of Supervisors for final approval.Click here to see MCMP letter withdrawing request for permit and zoning changeClick here to see District response to MCMP withdrawal letter
Our District Mission states in part: “…protect the environment of the Mad River watershed to preserve water rights, water supply and water quality interest of the District.” We have filed an appeal of the Planning Commission’s decision as it is a priority for us to protect and preserve the high quality drinking water source for 88,000 Humboldt County residents who consume our water. Our Board and staff believe heavy industrial development adjacent to our source water intake infrastructure on the Mad River is not protecting the health and safety of Humboldt County residents.
