Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District is required by the California Urban Water Management Planning Act (California Water Code Division 6, Part 2.6) to prepare and submit an Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) to the California Department of Water Resources every five years. The UWMP describes the District's water supplies, demand projections, supply reliability analysis, and conservation programs over a 20-year planning horizon. The District's 2025 UWMP, including the Water Shortage Contingency Plan (Appendix G), was adopted by the Board of Directors on June 11, 2026.
