I first became involved with HBMWD by serving on the Water Resources Planning Advisory Committee, was then appointed to a board vacancy, and have been serving and learning ever since! I am a licensed professional environmental engineer and I recently completed an MBA in Sustainable Development from Humboldt State, and I try to bring this experience to our discussions and decisions. I represent HBMWD on the Redwood Coast Energy Authority Board, and am newly elected to our Association of California Water Agency (ACWA) Region 1 Board. Issues of particular importance to me are impacts of cannabis cultivation on our watershed, the potential for instream flow dedication to preserve our water rights, increasing revenue from our hydroelectric plant at Matthews Dam, and construction of a new water line to serve Fieldbrook and Glendale.
